To add to the wisdom teeth extraction stories/advice...
Tell Sister Girl that you have at least one reader who had hers out on Good Friday. I was in my freshman year in high school and had to have all four doneat once. Having Easter Monday off was just enough time to recouperate to okay status. It didn't hurt that I mainly lived on my mom's super duper chocolate shakes for the whole weekend. (Chocolate milk, ice, hershey's syrup, and blue bell chocolate ice cream.)
And she shouldn't worry too much about the pain. If the dental surgeon is a good one he/she'll have her really good and gorked before doing anything. I remember breathing the nitrous and starting to get a little giggly and then... absolutely nothing until they were waking me up to get me home. And the best bet for heavy post-extraction pain without narcs is to switch off of two tylenol, two advil every two hours (so that there are at least 4 hours between two doses of tylenol and two doses of advil). Once the pain lessens, you can increase the interval to four hours between the tylenol/advil switch. (The tylenol is just a generally good painkiller, and the advil will help with any inflammation, plus add more painkilling goodness.)
Sister Girl'll be in my prayers at church tomorrow.
