I would be careful about trying to sign up again - if you got to the point of needing a validation email then presumably the account is in some manner created. (I just checked, it does indeed exist.) And one of the more... interesting rules of Subeta is that having multiple accounts is strictly, strictly forbidden. As in, if you have an old account which you no longer remember exists and create a new one, you can have your new account frozen. It happened to a close friend of mine. He had absolutely no idea he had created the old account so was naturally shocked, 6 months into his new one when he was suddenly frozen.
(As for needing a validation email then but not now - I think that they were introduced during the war with the chans? I forget exactly. That was back in May, but I can perfectly believe they weren't removed for many months.)
