I'm kind of torn about the writer's strike because, uh... I just lost my job because of it. I work in casting for a network show, and we've halted production because we've run out of scripts. And since I am poor, I cannot sit around and wait for the strike to end so I can go back to work. Hopefully I can find something in the film/tv industry, in an area that's not as affected, but if I can't, it's off to Starbucks I go. This totally blows; it's going to be a bleak Christmas.
And yet, I am completely on the writer's side. What they are asking for is more than fair, and long overdue. No, I'm pissed at those motherfucking douchebag producers and studio execs. I'm trying hard to think of one I've met that wasn't a greedy asshole, and... it's not coming to me.
Sorry to vent here in the comments. But hey -- if any of your LA readers needs an assistant...?
