You know how that blogger was claiming that "Cloverfield" was the code name for the Dark Tower movie(s)? Well, he's officially full of shit, because it's the code name for this, which you saw the teaser for if you went and saw Transformers. And? There's already website(s) with puzzling... puzzles. (See comments on that last link for help.)

Man, I live for cryptic shit like this.

Estimated time until first "it's too soon after 9/11 to show New York City blowing up" wank?

Not too long I would expect. This thing's going to get massive publicity just for that.

And here I was thinking Cloverfield was the code name for the Watership Down remake where the aptly named "Blackberry" is a communications rabbit for a nuclear sub deep in Soviet Leporidae.

My question is, how do the aliens always know to attack New York? Why do they never just aim a giant bomb for the center of the continent and hope for the best?

We're assuming it's aliens and not something created under new york ala the Manhattan project.

Maybe they just go for the brightest spot? Or the most pollution? The angriest people? Because if you blow up a city you need plucky Yankees to save the world? *is having a vision of the same thing happening to Atlanta, and it is rather funny*

Well, I'm just speaking generally--Independence Day, that kind of thing. Although the ethanhaaswasright.com site does seem to suggest aliens.

"They what!"

"Scorched a couple of corn fields."

"That's what I thought you said. I suppose we have to try again, but at this point I'm thinking of calling off the whole venture. There are other planets. And smarter contractors."

"I...we may have outsourced to Alpha Centuri..."

"FIgures. Centurians are always in a hurry. Half a rotation and they'd have seen where the lights are and scored a decent hit."

Heeee, Atlanta. "Bitch, who you think you are, Sherman?"

That is true.

Hmmm... I think they just kill two birds with one stone - see the sites... destroy the world.

"OH HELL NO." On the upside the populous will have more firearms then your normal US city.

Population density scan?

That doesn't explain why they don't also attack, say, Bangalore, India.

I was just thinking that myself--if it hasn't already been done in some other movie, someday, I would love to see a city block full of angry New Yorkers shooting at an alien craft.

As someone who was addicted to the Lost Experience, this EthanHaasWasRight website is like crack. CRACK, I say! I've already blasted through the first three puzzles. Mad props to JJ for being a marketing genius.

Okay, then you can help me. I know what to do for the second--the HAAS and all--but for some reason, when I line up the letters the way some message board said to, nothing happens. Am I supposed to do something else?

Hmm, sounds like you're doing it right. Do your letters line up like this?

H A - vertical bars
A S - horizontal disk

It worked for me when I did that.

Thank you JESUS. The board guy was saying to do it clockwise--

HA
SA

Either that, or he didn't type what he meant clearly.

Ethan Haas was right
