You know, it seems like lately I've found new ways to be tired every day. Today was my lovely three-hour Perm of Shame (see previous entry), which turned out wonderfully, although my hair is now up to my shoulders. But it'll grow out soon enough, and the brittle ends are gone gone gone, precious!

And then I came home and found the place a wreck. I had expected the puppies to have made a mess, but what I wasn't expecting was a dismembered pineapple and various smears of mango all over the kitchen. Sister Girl bought herself a juicer a week or two ago, and apparently she decided that this would be a wonderful day to play with it... and then vanish upstairs without so much as the wiping of a single counter. Yay.

This morning, though, I spent watching the Casino Royale DVD, ostensibly for the new book. I am, in fact, going to marry the opening credit sequence. We're going to run away to Vegas; the sequence has far too many relatives to make a big wedding anything but cost prohibitive.

Meanwhile, I think the way that this is supposed to work is that, once the new POTC3 trailer has been released (for real) (in English), you can come here and it'll start playing. You may have to refresh, I don't know. It'll also be airing during Dancing with the Stars on ABC (which starts at 7 pm, although I can almost guarantee you that they'll save the trailer for the end of the show, because I'm pretty sure umpteen million people aren't going to tune in just to see Heather Mills and her prosthetic leg), and [livejournal.com profile] trailer_spot will have the best quality download link up as soon as possible, I imagine. Sometimes it comes up as "invalid video URL," but I swear, I got it to work at one point.

The opening sequence to Casino Royale is one of the most beautiful credit sequences I've ever seen. And I've watched all of the Saul Bass ones from back in the day. I've never watched something and then told all of my design faculty at school about it, lol! ::nerd:: Dude, [livejournal.com profile] thefulcrum even made a kick-ass and completely spot-on LJ layout (http://community.livejournal.com/thefulcrum/5854.html) resembling the graphics. I used it for a while until I needed something a little lighter. ::clutches to bosom::

Ah, I wish you and the opening sequence many happy years together, and an abundance of children. I'd like to offer to be a witness at the nuptials, I live in Reno, and can fly their on my miles. LoL I am dying for that movie... may pick it up tonight now that you've mentioned it.

Coconut oil!! Awesome for hair...ok I know it's the wrong post but there ya go. Also a stinky mixture of water and apple cidar vinegar works wonders. You pour it on and let it sit for as long as you can stand and rinse it off with cool water. The smell rinses out and it makes you hair so ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Ah, I had figured you knew. I'm just sad that Showtime won't let me watch, all because I'm North of the 49th Parallel.

Are you sure we don't have the same sister?

I'm still patiently awaiting my Casino Royale DVD.

The one complaint I have about the DVD (besides the fact that there is NO COMMENTARY) is that all these scenes that were so easy to follow on a giant screen in the theater are almost impossible to understand on a normal TV--the ones with major plot points on characters' cell phones. Maybe I need to sit closer or something.

I love how bleedin' retro that Casino Royale credit sequence is. No naked women silhouettes! Imagery that actually relates to the plot! And that title song is just so perfectly Bondian, I love it.

Indy IV Title Buzz: Indiana Jones and the City of Gods ?

NO! Bad George Lucas, baaaad.

Although, this is the first thing about the film that's made me go "ugh." It makes me think of Greek/Roman mythology, which I'm not terribly interested in.

You know, that's one of the things I loved most about it--that it wasn't about stupid slinky chick silhouettes. I mean, the silhouettes are okay and everything, but we've had more than our share of those. Sometimes girls watch Bond movies too, you know. There was a nice little moment where the queen card turned into Eva Green's face, but it turned into her face, you know?

The other thing I loved was that they used the melody of the Chris Cornell song throughout the movie score (and saved the classic Bond theme for the very end). I think Cornell wrote the lyrics and either David Arnold--the soundtrack composer--wrote the music or they collaborated, which may be why the song fits so well.

Where are you trying to embed the POTC trailer from? If it's a site LJ doesn't support, that would explain the Invalid Video URL. (List of supported services (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=268))

I didn't get Greek/Roman from this at all, more like an Inca vibe. And a flashback to that City of God movie from a couple of years ago, incidentally. o.O

You're so much nicer than I am. The way I get my roommate to clean is to place the offensive item(s) in the middle of her keyboard...so Sister Girl, in my world, would have ended up with a pineapple head in her bed, Godfather-style.

Hmmm, tell me more about this apple cider vinegar/water thing! My poor hair is having a tough time this winter for some reason. Very dry and crazy frizzy sticking up all over the place. Is there a specific ratio? You're SURE the smell rinses out? I want to try this!!

The holding off on classic theme music until the very end was great. It was such a well done moment that sent a little chill down my spine. :)

I don't know how familiar you are with the Legend of Zelda video game series, but in the newest game (Twilight Princess) there was a similar moment that also gave me a similar reaction. :D It's probably now one of my all-time favorite video game moments actually.

I'm glad to see that others thought the intro was as cool as I did. I saw it with my parents, and they weren't impressed. :|
