Jeremy Irons, comedy superstar, returns! Good Lord, his coat is long. It's like, calf-length. Another nice pairing: a clip from The Queen.

"Two stars who search for a melody and find love in the upcoming film Music and Lyrics--Hugh Grant and DREW BARRYMORE!" Heh. Hugh Grant, whose hair is bodily trying to climb off his head in a frightening return to his coifs of the '90s, wants to straighten something out: Prince, in a mustard yellow pantsuit, was unavailable to collect his award because he was stuck in traffic. Ah. Best Score: Clint Mansell WOOOOO! (What? I loved the Fountain score. Shoot me.) The Painted Veil, alas, wins. My sister, walking in: "Drew Barrymore looks pretty. And supported."

John Stamos ("Wow, he looks like he's on a drinking binge") and Jennifer Love Hewitt, who looks slightly... off. In the face. Like, maybe a slightly higher percentage plastic than the last time I saw her. Giant cheer for America Ferrera, who wins (giant scream), and looks very good, albeit a bit top-heavy, in dark purple. (I agree, support is good; just move it down a little bit.)

Hostess Chick: "America Ferrera! What do you say to people who didn't want you to play Ugly Betty?" Ferrera: "I--I don't know who they are!" Slick, Hostess Lady.

Up next: Tom Hanks presents the Bathroom Break Award to Warren Beatty. Sweet.

America Ferrera is cute. And this is from someone who has never once watched Ugly Betty, but I am so glad she won because she's so appreciative. Also, I don't know who that twit is that was doing the post-award interview with America (and has done all the post-award interviews), but FIRE HER. She is a twit, and I got sick of her trying to find bad things to say. How can she ask her what she'd say to "all those people who didn't want you to play Betty"??? Um, gee, thanks?! How about congratulations, you dumbass?! Ugh.

America Ferrara really did almost make me cry there. Horribly AWKWARD moment with the interview after, though, ai yi yi. She's such a cute girl in real life.

My mom and I think that that interview with America Ferrera was the worst interview we have ever seen. That woman should be fired, or at least yelled at. In addition to that incredibly tactful question about the people who didn't want her to play the part, she asks whether she had ever even IMAGINED that she could POSSIBLY, EVER win?

Come on.

And my mother was spitting with rage when Ugly Betty won over The Office, and she was ready to throttle that woman. Which is probably an overreaction. But we're very opinionated people. XD

i want that interview chick to be fed lard through a tube 'til she weighs 250 pounds and actually knows what it's like to not be perfect and then see a show like Ugly Betty, and a girl your age like America succeed like that. you know what she's thinking and being told by E! or whoever she was hired by. what an awful person. i'm so glad America won. i cried when she gave her speech, and then cried even more when i saw how she made every woman in that room tear up. you know if they were at home with no eye make up they'd be bawling their eyes out.

You have to love LA traffic. It's so messed up, even His Purpleness can't make it on time to an awards ceremony. I guess if I was him, I would ride around in a big purple lino, so everyone knew it was Prince, so they would get the hell out of my way. But that's just me.

Because you know, even in LA, I think people would get out of his way. But maybe I am far too optimistic.

I really wanted America and Jennifer to just run off and have some cake and split a bottle of champagne. They looked hawt. And America made Salma Hayek cry. Which was awesome. But all the NBC/Extra hostesses they had doing immediately post-win interviews were dingbats. Ugh.
