Which is why the only celebrity news I get is what I read on livejournal and in the supermarket checkout lines (and most of that is bogus anyway, so I forget it as soon as I say hello to the cashier). Because I don't care about their personal lives. My comment was not "coddle the poor celebrity" but, basically, "why are people so mean?". It was, in this particular case, mainly due to a misreading of the entry, but in general still what I think.
