Speaking as a general "Ana Lucia hater", I'll say that she showed a lot more possibility for redemption here than I thought she did in her background episode (which I thought would give me some grounds for liking her, and instead made me snarl at her).
She didn't growl at Charlie even though it must've been sorely tempting; she apologized to Sayid and tried to explain herself. I didn't think the 'nobody likes me' thing was an 'Oh, woe is me' ploy. Here's what I got out of it--
"People I barely know have judged me for a mistake. But not only were you directly affected by that mistake, you also dealt with my behavior afterwards, and yet you don't seem to hate me, even though you'd be fully justified. So I want you to know what's going on, at least as much as I can manage to get across, because sitting around a campfire and sharing feelings is not exactly my strong suit."
Maybe I'm reading too much into it; I don't know. But I actually saw potential tonight.
And I'd better stop, or I'm going to be tempted to write fanfiction. ;-)
Hmm..what would the Dharma Flakes toy be? Dharma Flakes...I like that. I bet it has hemp and flax seed in it.
Right there with ya on Sawyer. I so hated him after the frog incident. Then I just decided to treat that whole part of that episode as fanfic and I feel a LOT better.
That was my comment to my mom, yes. Because she's a horrible LotR nerd. I'm a few million rungs down the Tolkien Geek ladder than her, but THAT AIN'T HARD. X)
1. I wish Ana Lu would whoop Kate and then turn around and whoop Charlie. Kate because she's just a big hor. And Charlie because he's a snarky, low-hitting, emo kid.
2. Jack and John are a little too worked up about John and Jack. Thank you, Ana Lu. 'Bout damn time someone pointed that out.
3. Dharma Flakes. Fuckin' A.
4. Henry knows way too much to let him be out in the open. Not even that he sat there and told them that damn story. He knows about all the insecurities, the trust issues...he knows way too damn much. Jack and John are being retarded about this whole thing. They should have just killed the guy.
5. Kind of yay for Sun being pregnant--I hope no one tries to steal her baby.
6. Why is Kate suddenly everyone's big sister? Sun has got to be older than she is. And she's infinitly more mature than Kate. I hate Kate. It's like, they just needed a reason to put her in there as fanservice. That kinda shit pisses me off. You shouldn't invent weak reasons for people to be somewhere like that.
Naw, I thought that comment was really snarky. Sun and Jin have had a way harder time than he and his whiney wife ever did. I was totally on Sun's side for that one. Her relationship with Jin is infinitly more complicated. :)
Re: 6.) They've actually established Sun and Kate being close friends over the course of the series. I was actually happy to see her there for Sun, and I usually can't stand her. Sun somehow makes me find her about a million times more likeable, and I'm not entirely sure why - she just seems more comfortable when they're scening together.
Everyone seems to be thinking Sun's look when Jin was all excited and hugging her means that her baby isn't his. What if it means Jin's all excited, but she's really not? Remember, when she was talking to the Other Man, she said she was relieved when the doctor said she couldn't have kids. Maybe she doesn't want one.
Naw, I never really got that they were close at all. They hung out every once in a while--but I never got the impression that they were close friends. Maybe it's just because Kate usually spend her time teasing the guys (or, on the flip side, and when it's convenient, being the damsel in distress) and we're not used to seeing her with other female characters.
Or it might just be because I hate Kate. I guess that is a possibility. But yeah. :) Totally didn't get impression of friendship. Right. Aheh. Sorry. I rambled.
