Irredeemable? The whole point of the show is redemption and renewal through the island. Locke's handicap, Jin's sterility, Sawyer's... Sawyerness, Kate's infinite issues? Nobody is irredeemable.
Now we know the REAL reason for the Jack/Locke power struggle... Locke steals the damn toy from the Dharma Flakes before he can get it!
I laughed my ass off at Sawyer reading Are You There, God? I wish he would have done the "I must, I must, I must increase my bust!" excercises. Maybe he secretly wishes that *he* would get his period.

Yeah for those that don't know back in Fire + Water they showed a Widmore Construction sign on a building in Charlie's flashback. The building itself is actually the Battersea Power Station in England. Pink Floyd fans might have recognized the building from the cover of their Animals album.
Apparently Widmore Construction will become important later on. Considering they are a construction company I suspect they may have built the Dharma stations. Also Michael was a construction worker. Maybe this partially explains the interest in Walt. If there really is a vast Dharma conspiracy at work that arranged for everyone to be on the island (which I don't buy yet) then maybe Michael getting that job working at his construction company with his buddy Andy wasn't a coincidence. For that matter maybe Susan taking Walt to Australia wasn't coincidence. Maybe her death wasn't a mystery illness like we were lead to believe. ======================================================================= Soooooo Widmore has their fingers in more pie than just construction!
For the past 25 years it's always just been "now you owe me a drink" - I don't recall doing it in middle school or before - and so as an adult I tend to choose whatever liquid I most want at the current time. As does the person who might beat me to it.
