Aw, hell--I lost my entry when my computer crashed. Ah well. You know what's fun? City Creator. I like the castles.

I hate it when that happens. Better luck next time.

Type it in Semagic or copy it to notepad? That's what I had to resort to doing XD

Aww, man. You're gonna get me obsessed with this city creator, aren't you?

Oy. Pity for the crashy-ness.

Oh, balls. Way not fun.

It *was* in Semagic--that's the bad part. And "load draft" came up with nothing, which is unusual. Woe.

This is kind of neat-- you draw a simple sketch, and a special experimental search engine tries to find images similar to the sketch:
http://labs.systemone.at/retrievr/

It works best with really simple shapes-- just lines and circles and things. (Drawing a picture of an eye, consisting of an oval with a circle inside, worked very well.)

I'll have to mark that for my grandchildren to play next time they are here.

Hope you're getting over your cold.

Hugs, Christina

Sorry about the lost entry. But--City Creator? Good gawd. I'm not getting any work done today, am I?

I suppose I could say that I'm building an image of the city in my novel....

Heh, I built a few of those myself.

OMG OMG Cleo -- utterly unrelated to urban genesis/renewal but still....

Via [livejournal.com profile] indigoskynet: Almost 20 years after the Jem toyline (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jem_%28animated%29#Revival) was introduced to the U.S. market and 17 years after its demise, Hasbro has shown interest in reviving the line, going so far as registering a new trademark for the purpose of selling dolls and doll clothes. A release date has yet to be announced.

It is Wikipedia, so they could just be All Up On Crack, but still....

Man, sorry 'bout the computer crash...and that City Creator looks very, very addicting. Like I need something else to keep me from working today. :-)

Oh, on a sort-of related note to that iPod/earbud thing you posted the other day, Pete Townshend says 'Turn it Down.' (http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/01/04/showbuzz/index.html#0) Cuz you know, if Pete says it, we should do it. ;-)

I have to say, I really like your Robin Hood icons--there was another one I saw that I thought must have been yours, which is why I checked your icon page. Man, I must have watched that movie every single time it came on HBO when I was 12.

Thanks! [livejournal.com profile] sunnysky made it, and has tons more here (http://www.livejournal.com/community/dropsofsunshine/29204.html). They're really good, aren't they? I think they were done awhile back, but I just found them the other day. I watched Robin Hood for the first time in a couple years or so on Monday and decided I needed icons of it. Took me forever to find any on LJ, but am way pleased with the ones I discovered.

I realized on Monday just how much I still love that movie, phony accent and all. :-) I was around 8th or 9th grade when it came out and I know I went to see in the theaters a couple times at least. And apparently, I'd watched the video tape so much that it wouldn't play correctly for the first 20 minutes or so when I popped it in this week. (I should probably invest in the DVD.) Luckily, it was messed up mostly just for the beginning torture scenes, so I didn't miss my favorite parts (*coughRickmanofNottingham*cough)

And, while this is threatening to become a big Robin Hood manifesto, I remember somebody commenting to you one time about doing a Robin Hood m15m and I thought that was a completely awesome idea (if you were interested and had the time, which I understand is at a premium for everyone these days). :-)

/longwinded comment

Yeah, I don't have the time at all, but honestly? It's in my top five Movies on DVD to Do If I Ever Get a Chance. Maybe top three, even. ; )

Two of my high-school friends got married to the music of that movie. I would've gone, but the Chargers were in their first playoff game in ten years, so I watched that instead.

They split up a year, year and a half later, something like that. The couple, that is. Not the San Diego Chargers. They may be occasionally ineffective, but they're still on speaking terms. (Plus that'd be awkward. How do you break up with 45 men? I don't know, but I get the feeling I know who to ask....)

I'm not implying causality. Just...y'know, noting it. For the record.

See, I'm smarter than that. I *know* to be ashamed that I like Bryan Adams' music. (Well, before he got all midlife-crisis and pseudo-glamrock about it.)

Suddenly having Summer of '69 on my playlist fills me with all new kinds of shame...and I'm not sure why.

Nothing to do with crashing...

This has nothing really to do with computer crashing or castles or cupcakes (?), but i thought you'd enjoy this.

OMGWTFPOLARBEAR (almost) goes to the sticks! (http://www.livejournal.com/community/hp_sticks/12470.html#cutid1)

Ack! Computer crashing is never fun.

*reminds self to back-up for the first time in months*

While I'm here, I thought I'd share a link with you. I came across the webcomic "Wondermark (http://www.wondermark.com/)" recently and I thought it might tickle your fancy. I'm way back in the archives, but this strip (http://www.wondermark.com/d/006.html) in particular made me giggle out loud. In fact, the style of the whole webpage reminded me strongly of The Black Ribbon.
