IKU is a bit graphics intensive. It usually crashes the client a lot on me. The Gopets team tweak the program weekly. Feel free to request me as a friend. My id is pretty much global on the net ^_^ (tygerlander)
Also do not pass up the community board. You can lurk there for awhile before deciding to join that or not.
I pretty much live on the board now. Unfortunately that kills time for KoL, but I'm getting beaten left, right and sideways by the Naughty Sorceress 6_9
