Eeeeee! My Carnaval Noir order came in! As a treat back in--July?--I ordered the whole set with the intent to sell whatever I didn't like, and that way I'd at least get to smell each one. And of course, more freebies that way. So it just came in, right before the pizza arrived! And just from bottle sniffs, most of the CN blends smell a lot more pleasant than I was expecting (but who knows). I also had a bottle of Dorian (mmmdorian) come in, plus a bottle of Oneiroi to help with my weird nightmare problem. (Although last night I dreamed that... well, these exact oils arrived. Except they were in those octagonal candle jars. And only four of them. And a weird shapeless package wrapped in opaque brown plastic labeled "Sexual Power Secrets." And then the phone rang and woke me up. Bizaaaaaarre.)

But I feel like the freebies (or frimps) are the best part of any BPAL order, if only because of the element of surprise. And I ended up with some awesome ones: Wolf's Heart and Dana O'Shee, which I like, so those are basically refills; Zombi, Persephone, and Belle au Bois Dormant, which I'm sort of pleasantly meh about, so these are basically doubles I can trade away, I guess; Blood Lotus and Megaera, which were high on my list to try, so that's just exciting; Severin, Magus, Loup Garou, Delphi, Inferno, Desire, and Port au Prince, which I had despaired of ever getting around to trying, so that's exciting; and Euphrosyne, Vixen, Nyx, Jolly Roger, and Ulalume, which I probably would have never bought for myself, so now I get to try them anyway. Whee!

And now my entire room smells like 50 different kinds of perfume from opening all of them.

Yay! The missing pimp link from [livejournal.com profile] ambiguousreason: "Oh, the music community pimpage was me! It's [livejournal.com profile] already____gone and it's really very simple: I post music recommendations and people can download whatever they want. If you don't like what I post, I have a playlist and you can request stuff."

And a link from [livejournal.com profile] particle_person: A guy who takes old-fashioned portraits and makes them... change. Do not click if you have issues with clowns.

Everytime you talk about BPAL, it sounds cooler and cooler. But whenever I go look at the site I get scared and afraid if I got anything I'd dislike it and then be of the emoness. Becuase I think of thinngs way too far in advance.

But I am oh so glad you like you perfumes! ♥eth

DorianDorianDorian!

Ohhh, that is so high on my to-buy list (although I've already tied up a chunk of change in Pumpkin Patch and Demon in my View decanting circles).

Yeah, that clown is scary enough without the added effects. I got the link off Boingboing, so forward the credit to where it's due.

I adore BPAL. I just got my first imps ever this last week. LOVE Bewitched and Hanging Gardens. Eh about Wrath. Hate Inferno...smells like cinnamon scented trash bags.

Megaera was a frimp for me too, and I can't put it on. It looks like teriyaki sauce, which kind of makes me go "ew," and when I sniff it, all I smell is what can best be described as "dirty skank," or at least my head's best interpretation of what a whore would smell like. I need to put it and my other duds up on [livejournal.com profile] alchemylab but I can't find my padded envelopes! *angst*

I love you for introducing me to BPAL and geeking about it in your journal so I feel less alone.

I hate you, however, for having the Odditorium set and eleven thousand frimps right now. Because I know with bitterness that my pending (Blood Moon) order isn't going to get here until November. I'm ready to go work at the Lab myself for free just to speed up their ship times.

My name is Megaera. Had no idea there was a perfume named after me . . . I'm not a perfume person, but I just might get a bottle of that.

Thank you.

So very, very much.

I thought I was the only one who had issues with clowns.

(no I didn't click)

BPAL envy galore, man. Once I get a job next summer, I'm so blowing it all on imps. Who cares about having money for a social life when you have BPAL, right?

A couple months ago I put on Haunted before going to bed, and got some seriously weird dreams about BPAL. I don't remember any of them though, which I think is a good thing.

I just got my first two orders (24 imps with 4 freebies), and thought they would surely be enough to satisfy my BPAL lust. But no. They've just made it much, much worse.

I have to thank you for pimping BPAL. After reading your reviews, I poked around the site and it only took about 45 seconds to become totally hooked. :D I am now BPAL's bitch and wouldn't have it any other way. (Mmmmm, Midway. Midwaaaaay.)

Also, I don't know if you read the Swap forum or not, but someone has a 10ml bottle of Glitter available (http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=17687). :)

YAY BPAL!! I ordered Samhain and an imp of Czernobog and am dying to see what else comes with them. Also dying for them, come to think of it.

I think your dream is telling you something. Hee...

The clown page is freaking my shit out. That Mona Lisa will follow me into my dreams tonight, I just know it.

And I posted it elsewhere, but tell me if this right here (http://comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=11399) doesn't send you into a five-minute *mansquee*.

You got the WHOLE LOT of Carnival Noir? I'm jealous! I desperatley wanted the whole thing, but I just couldn't talk myself into it, even knowing that I could sell/swap the scents which didn't work for me. I did, however, talk myself into getting the Pumpkin Patch quite easily.

...

What's your take on Dragon's Heart, by the way? I've been wanting to order that one for a while, but I'm a little weary since the other Ars Draconis scents haven't really worked.

INFERNO!!!!! *squee* Inferno is my most favorite and ultimate BPAL scent (so far)! On me it smells like red hots candy and sex. :) Watch when applying, however, it tends to leave my skin embarrassingly red for a little while, and I know reviewers have noted similar reactions.

I'm eager for your review of Midway. It was nothing like what I expected in the bottle, and quite a dissapointment for me, though half an hour after application it turned into funnel cake on my skin. MMM. Unforunately, however, the BPAL gods knew that this was my most-anticipated oil, and decided to smite me by the fact that it was far too faint and faded far too quickly for the scent to be worth anything on me. le sigh.

Heeee, BPAL!! And the entire Odditorium, too! I wish I could have tried the whole thing, I just have imps of Snake Charmer and Freak Show and they're insanely good. I heard great things about Bearded Lady, too.
You will review, of course, right? (no pressure ;))

(by the by, it would be mighty interesting to count how many people exactly you've enabled. I wouldn't be surprised if we were in the dozens, here ;)

After having read your squee's and reviews for some time now, you have won me over. I just ordered my 6 first imps (Velvet, O, Vixen, Debauchery, Morocco and Snake Oil).

Yeah, Cleo, you got me hooked on BPAL. I just got my first six imps: The Lady of Shalott, Hellcat, Swank, Hunger, Lolita, and Dana O'Shee (freebie was Nocturne).

My most OMG moment was when I opened Dana O'Shee and smelled...pineapple upside-down cake. I kid you not. And it's WONDERFUL on me. Hee...thank you for giving me a place to dispose of my disposable income!

What did you think of Port Au Prince? I have an imp of that and I thought it smelled too much like food. I can't place which food, and not something I'd specifically want to eat, but still: food.

Btw:
Do you know of places, besides LJ where BPAL sells their imps? Or makes imps? I don't have the money to spend $18 on a bottle of ANYTHING right now! :(
