Well, they better not kill us... I want to live to see more. LOL
And geez, Shannon, way to set off my Bitch-o-Meter even more than you already have. Here I was feeling kindly toward her during the Walt scene (and hooray for Walt, btw) and then I see the flashback at the airport and GRRRRR.
No, he got caught weeks before that, and they flew him to Australia to bust his friend. Remember? 'Cause his flight to LA was supposed to be the day before the Flight Of Doom, but he stayed an extra day to receive his friend's corpse so he could get a proper burial.
I don't know what effect Shannon's stunt had on him, though really, her reaction wasn't all that out of line. I'd report a guy I didn't know who ditched his bags even if he was WASP-y as all hell. And we know he still made the flight, so they couldn't have detained him for very long.
But how does her "manipulating" an airport security guy into checking out a suspicious package (which they tell us to do all the time on the NYC subways anyway) translate into her being able to manipulate the gate attendant into getting her into a first-class seat?
She was pissed off and Boone's talking down to her wasn't exactly helping. And when Shannon's mad (or in any kind of a passion, really, we've seen), she doesn't think clearly, she just acts. It's not a good thing, but it is her personality. Maybe what she does won't accomplish anything, but in the middle of her anger she doesn't consider that. So, yeah, getting Sayid in trouble doesn't prove a point, but when Boone's treating her like she can't do anything, she'll do something just to say she did it, whether it actually has a point or not. ^_^ 'Least, that's how I see her.
No, that had to be earlier...because if Sayid had been caught before this flight, he wouldn't have gotten on, and therefore would not be on the island.
I totally got confused about this too, and thought Shannon was the cause of the Sayid plot-line. But when I recapped the show, spectralbovine gracefully corrected me. I still have no idea what her telling them about Sayid was supposed to prove.

The point of her doing that (though she did act totally unconcerned when Sayid dropped his bags off) may have been that she was genuinely concerned.
