As someone who is newly insuranceless, I'm starting to understand how bills can pile up. Luckily my health problems are relatively minor. I socked in a few bucks, wish I could do more.
The American Cancer Society has "Hope Lodges" around the country where cancer patients can stay for free while they're getting treatments. My friend works at one in Cincinnati. I'm sure Christina has looked into this, but you might want to let her know to check it out on the off-chance she hasn't heard of it.
