I am having... in short, a bad day. I'm having one of those days where I'm too angry to even feel it--that calm rage that's hot and cold at the same time and just beggars expression. I'm too angry to work, and that's really, really bad, because I don't have time to not work. I can't really talk about why (don't ask), except it's just one of those "people you fight with a lot anyway" kind of things. It's not anything soul-crushing or newsworthy. Just obnoxious and pointless and infuriating. Sigh.

Find someone to yell at who understands that you're not mad at them. I tend to use my mom or one of my good friends--after screaming at someone for 15 minutes, the world always seems a bit calmer.

Ah, I know how that is.
I hope it's resolved quickly for you. Screaming matches can suck.

Amen to that. I always use my best friend as the stand-in. She lets me scream at her for a while and then when I'm done, we go to Baskin Robbins and I treat her to a banana split. Nothing can be bad in my world after screaming and ice cream.

I think it's definitely something in the air. This entire week has been one "I'm-mad-I'm-sick-just-leave-me-alone" fest. (for myself, that is) Hop in the car and drive down the road listening to some Prince. Let's Go Crazy makes just about anyone feel better! ;)

My advice is avoidance advice

try webcomics!

www.wigu.com (both the current one and the old one about the little boy), www.scarygoround.com and www.achewood.com bring joy to all the little children.

also, it's better to read comics than to curse the darkness. Or something.

My family is extremely estrogen-laden. Sometimes the best possible option is to offer chocolate and porn/something potentially weepy and just get the hell out of there.

Of course, this does not work in every circumstance, sadly. Especially since one cannot feel especially comfortable offering porn to one's mother. *shakes head sadly*

*Pulls you into my lap and pets your hair*

I third, or fourth, or whatever it's up to now, finding an incredibly understanding person to rant to. Sometimes it's just better to get the violence out. And then I second, etc. treating them (and yourself) to something after.

You've leaned out the window and screamed "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more!"?

... no, it didn't work for me either, but it was worth a shot.

Then sticking your head through it would definitely be a mistake.

I've started turning to Drink, which is good because I have the metabolism of a very small gnat and approximately one thimbleful of alcohol will knock me out. So it works out cheap.

Probably yoga or thinking calming pink happy thoughts or some shite like that would be more ethical, but I think drink and shouting is the way to go. (Father Jack, of whom you may or may not know, is my role model in this, as in so much else.)

Poor Cleo. I feel your pain - me and Roommate have been kinda at odds for a good three weeks now.

If you wish, I can be angry for you so you can get some work done? I always work out better when I'm angry anyway.

P.S. And if it makes you feel better, I ate the sticker off my apple this morning. Whoops.
