I'm going out tomorrow afternoon for lunch, so I probably won't be here, though I may have time to catch the rerun before I go see Harry Potter.

Uh! Uh! Uhuhuhuhuh! )

Hmm. I have a [livejournal.com profile] dailydigest journal that's currently collecting dust, so I'm wondering... a few LJers have sent me movie reviews, but not only am I swamped trying to run everything, I'm also running out of storage space on the site. (Before you jump in with advice, I have to point out that the cheapness of my current hosting setup is one of its great advantages.) Like, [livejournal.com profile] jedi_funk sent me a Mean Girls review that is still rotting in my inbox, because I suck. (Sorry! Sorry!)

Really, though, I'm wondering if I shouldn't make the Digest LJ a community also, and open it for people to post reviews. I'd really like to keep movie news itself out of it, although you can always drop me a comment over here if there's something you think I need to see. (Warning: if it's on one of the sites I cover, I'll probably have seen it.) Anyway. I can still link to people's reviews on the main Digest reviews page, but it'll be easier to manage incoming reviews. Anyone interested?

P.S. I will be under the bed if you need me.

I'm going to be a huge bitch stickler about this, but there are plenty of communities around if you just want to post any old whatever. There's also your own journal. I've posted Huge Bitch Guidelines, which are actually very simple, at the community. Basically, I want a review entry to look like this (the info is easily found at the IMDB):

Subject line: The Day After Tomorrow, * * *

Starring Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Emmy Rossum, Sela Ward, Ian Holm.

Rated PG-13 for intense situations of peril.

Your review starts here. Blah blah, be fun, be serious, I don't care. Write a few sentences, maybe a whole opening paragragh. LJ CUT GOES HERE. Here's the rest of the review. Couple of paragraphs, I don't care; all spoilers behind the cut.

VoilĂ . Not hard. Why am I being such a bitch? Because all of these reviews will be linked on the Digest review index, and I want to uphold some semi-professional standards, and I don't want to have to be all up in everyone's Kool-Aid every five minutes moderating. If you don't like it, don't join.

If you do join (you can friend to read the reviews only), it'll ask me for permission. All I'm going to do is ask if you've read the guidelines. You don't have to be Pauline Kael or anything. I just want to make sure that trolls don't walk in off the street, so to speak, and start posting reviews in l33tspeak. However, you can review more than just movies (movie-related books, scripts, DVDs, soundtracks), and you can say anything content-wise that you want, and you can all review Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban if you damn well feel like it. So, in conclusion: [livejournal.com profile] dailydigest.
