I was very sad to see her comments. I love her books, and her novel The Bermudez Triangle is an excellent, sweet romantic comedy-drama about three friends: one lesbian, one straight, one questioning.

I think she personally has not experienced homophobia, probably because she's not LGBTQ herself and only wrote one book with LGBTQ content - after other books that had already succeeded. And she's confusing "the industry as a whole often acts in a homophobic manner, regardless of their personal beliefs" with "your friends are a bunch of homophobes."
