Wow! Baby's first flame!

(Yeah, I totally didn't mean to actually post this at the community. Oops. I think I've managed to take it down before it inspired too much wank. I think it's funny, myself, so 500 people don't need to go defend my honor or anything.)

ETA: Ah, now we have a random anonymous "get over yourself" added to the fray. I'm mostly just shocked that it took--what, two weeks?--for the negativity to start showing up.

ETA 2: And this one's just odd: "whats with that cleo whore and that other bitch??" The weirdest part is that it's an otherwise positive comment.

Well, someone else later posted and said, "This didn't really work for me, not my sense of humor, didn't think it was funny, sorry. --[Name]" I can deal with that--that's honest and polite and I can respect that. It's the "You should be put down" shit that's creepy. I was a bit on the fence about it, but now I am DEFINITELY using "Cleolinda Jones" as my pen name for actual published books.

Hee!

Yeah, I can see why.

Hey, random thought: Do you think that people who put stuff like that in their comments don't actually realize they're threatening bodily harm? I mean, with the serious turn for the worse that the English language has taken lately, isn't in conceivable that people are using idioms whose meaning they don't understand, such as "put down"?

Or do you think they really are intending to make terroristic threats? Because if so, that shit's SCARY.

Someone on my flist got very defensive when he admitted to not finding Ti15M funny and was mocked for it. Not everyone finds the same stuff funny - WHO KNEW!

He's used to being a wronghead, anyway. ;-)

A bit of mocking's good for the soul.
Well, my soul.
If I had one.

Heh. You know, I'm surprised as many people like it as there are. I am totally not offended by the idea that OMG SOME--MANY!--PEOPLE DO NOT THINK I'M FUNNY! Hell, I could have told you I'm not that funny myself and saved you the trouble. In fact, I even said in the intro, "I don't think this one's all that great." It's the idiomatic threats of bodily harm I'm not down with. There are plenty of things I've read that people loved but I didn't think were the shit--so I just moved on. It's not all that hard.
