[Of course, when I was thirteen, I was all just MOAR ROCHESTER.]
ROFL, so true! Hey I was around 13 when I read that book as well all the way through, how funny! We all had to write essays about it and they were so awful apparently that our teacher told us to rewrite them and never gave them back!
What I'll always remember most I think is the part in Lowood when the owner notices an orphann with curly hair and criticizes it as a luxary, and when the director lady or whatever says that it's naturally curly he says, "But we musn't conform to nature!" or something like that, only for his daughters to then show up later after this speech with totally permed hair. (I think it stuck with me because I have very curly hair naturally)
