I think I like the original version better - the sound is a drip-drip-drip noise so she reaches down to the dog for comfort and it licks her hand. The next morning she goes into the bathroom and the dog is hanging from the shower rail with its neck cut open and its blood is going drip-drip-drip. So that explains the noise but what the f**k was licking her hand, she wonders?
