Y'all, our fridge just died.

It's under warranty at Sears. Sears can't come fix it until July 9th.

We found someone who can fix it today. They want $75 just to walk through the door.

Agreed, although it's hard with big things like fridges, don't they run on their own 220V line? Can you get surge protectors for them?

Also, Alton love! I saw him speak near here in his home town of Marietta. He was hilarious and incredibly savvy.

Yes you can. I live in FL, lightning capital of like, the world. I soometimes joke that calling ourselves "the sunshine state" was just an ironic joke. Anyway, we run literally everything on surge protectors. Large appliances and computers get battery backups, too. We've got one in the kitchen, and one in each room that has a computer. Saves a bundle on repairs, and stress when we have a lightning strike. (Which is damn near every afternoon all summer long...)

I have witnessed summer lightning storms in Florida, they are scary! I really enjoy lightning storms in general but they just feel much stronger in FL. Also you feel more vulnerable because everything is flat and near water :-)

Ah, summers in FL. Gotta love it.
