Ooo, and there's a new nonfiction out about William James and the founding of the Society for Psychical Research in 1882 -- Ghost Hunters by Deborah Blum. I haven't read it yet so I can't say whether it's worth your time or not, but Salon's review (http://www.salon.com/books/review/2006/08/28/blum/index1.html) is pretty positive.
