Definitely not. I heard all the gaspy "whoom-cha-cha's" and started freaking. "GAACK! The Others are pygmy tribesmen with sticks Sharpened At Both Ends! RUN, Jack! RUN, Hurley! RUN, Sayid! STAY Kate!"

Sharpened at both ends? That doesn't bode well for our one-pointy-end pointy sticks.
