I wrote over on TWoP and I'll point it out here, I think part of the "curse" of winning something with those numbers is that people aggressively don't believe you. I think that's why, to have Rousseau actually seriously consider his theory and agree was such an incredible relief to him. He couldn't tell anyone the slightest thought or they went batshit on him. He mentions the curse to his mother, she hits him. He mentions it to his accountant, he calls him crazy. He mentions it to the widow, she yells at him. He barely mentions anything to Charlie and Charlie goes whacko "YOU LOON" on him. (Also? Charlie totally shot the hell out of Ethan, like, five days ago.) So I'm not sure if it's too badly out of character for Charlie, and he may even be under the influence of the Curse.
