Awwww, man. I really want to watch Peyton Place on TCM tonight, but I'm so close to locking down the rest of Titanic that I probably shouldn't take my mind elsewhere.

It was crazy--I was up until three am last night writing, not just futzing around but actually pounding it out, and then I was up at eight this morning writing connective tissue. It was weird--I finally had one of those mornings where I could say, "This needs to be written, so now I will write it," and I would just fill in the gaps. Of course, it's still overdue as all hell, but... there you go.

We're up to 39 pages. It'll definitely be 40, maybe more, by the time it's done. That's about twice as long as usual, although I'm sure "Rose!" "Jack!" "Rose!" "Jack!" takes up a good bit of that space. I was a zombie in class--not because I was tired, but because Uncle Tom's Cabin was completely crowded out by all the Titanic miscellany.

My head hurts. I'm hungry. Where's dinner? I want cake.*

* Do not actually send me cake.

I can't wait to curl up with a blanket and a good mug of hot chocolate and read this parody. :-)

Omg. Prince would have come up with so much awesome booty music for the Sex Car. In fact, I think he would have called it "Sex Car: Music From and Inspired by the Motion Picture Titanic."

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, that's just what I've had playing while I write (with the TV on mute, so I can concentrate and just look over and read the subtitles if I need to). Nothing all that interesting. : )

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Which is probably why I'm not very good at it.

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Dude. I want cake now, which means "Let me go bake a cake," not "All y'all sacrifice innocent baked goods to Teh Cleo." I need to seriously start posting some disclaimers on my entries.

[identity profile] spectralbovine.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Heh.

"All y'all sacrifice innocent baked goods to Teh Cleo."

That's really bizarre, cause when I heard my new mail notification sound, I said, "Ah, that's probably Teh Cleo."

Fandom and adulthood is a tricky balance, say I.

Oh my god. I would buy that, and then hang the cover art/title sheet on my door just to get weird looks from people. Hee.

To help you cheer up further--

Not Cake.

[identity profile] kira002.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
It's not cake and it's not edible, but I've been meaning to offer you something from Lost-Tees.com (http://www.lost-tees.com) as a thank you for your brilliance.

Seriously. Whatever you want.

remember to always try to take some 'Cleo time'. *this was directed towards Cleo...not towards her undying fans...though if they want to take some Cleo time as well power to yeh...*

Prince could of def. rock the Sex Car.

Unfortunately, I saw a behind the scenes thing about the "Sex Car" before I saw it at the movie theater. Either Kate or Leo (I forget which one and I get them mixed up:)) were complaining how they needed to cover them in KY or some goo for that scene and how they kept sliding and banging into one another. So when I saw that all I could think was "Ewwww". Thanks a lot, stupid Entertainment Tonight crap program.

Awww! I would say get me a button to pin on my messenger bag, but I don't know who to pick!

Re: Not Cake.

[identity profile] kira002.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Pick 'em all! (Hey, if Kate can't choose...) Or give me another combination and I'll make it for you. Teh Cleo Special(tm).

I am completely imagining this as an afternoon special so I can shake my head and say, "Oh, how the woman loves her cake."

[identity profile] ayn-rand-fan-13.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Best of luck with Titanic. Ooh, cake sounds really good.
Sorry, this is kind of off topic, but today I found a soundtrack to Phantom of the Opera lying around the house, and during Music of the Night I started adding the lyrics to Noveelas of the Night. A cousin of mine was in the London production of it, as the phantom, so I was gonna get him to sing it for me with those lyrics. So...awesome...

Hee. Actually, I really like Kate--I'm one of, like, three people who do. And Charlie. AND SAYID OMG.

Although, given real-life events, Kate + Charlie would be cute. : )

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! I actually wrote the lyrics to that before I'd ever heard the song at all, just looking at lyrics on a web page, so I had no idea if they had the right rhythm or anything.

*starts cramming a cake into a box*
Damn you stupid cake! Fit into the box! Cleo wants cake!

[identity profile] sydelbow.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
It's a good thing you put that asterisk in.
Someone threatened to mail me brownies once.

[identity profile] quizzicalsphinx.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Great. Now what am I going to do with all this cake?

[identity profile] quizzicalsphinx.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
My standard LJ reward for anyone who does me a favour online is "a plate of warm homemade brownies--but you'll have to pay shipping unless you can come pick them up."

Oh Cleo, I used to watch the soap Peyton Place every week with my Mom. My goodness that seems like 20 life times ago! I loved that show. Ryan O'Neil and Mia Farrow were so young then, and I can't believe my Mom let me watch the show considering I was only 11 at the time it started. She was pretty liberal about those things though.

And I loved the movie as well with Lana Turner!

They definitely were a guilty pleasure!

My Mom introduced me to the movies Imitation of Life (with Lana Turner) and Pinky and I still can't watch that IoL without crying at the end! It's a three hanky movie! Now my oldest daughter loves Imitation of Life as well.

And speaking of cake (homemade layered white cake with chocolate frosting) is my favorite. YUMMY! Not like I need it but it's as you say one of life's guilty pleasures and without those how would we survive? Or would it even be worth surviving?

And hurrah on your progress on the book! Before you can say "m15m" it will be flying off the book store shelves!
Christina

Just by the way...

Could you pretty please make an index of you lovely Lost recaps?

I live in NZ and it's only just started playing here...I'd like to send my friends over to read the funny but I can't find them reliably and your calendar on the side-bar defaults to the current month, making searching by hand (as it were) kinda hard.

Yeah, that's all. Keep up the good work!

*luff*

[identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I mean, if you've *got* cake, I can take it off your hands...
